Planning, 1 of the 4 Basic Keys to Success!
One of the big mistakes we often make in our business is failing to plan. Planning isn’t something you should try, it’s something you should DO. You can’t keep ideas in your head-it’s too blurry up there-you have to get it down on paper.
Why is such a simple thing like planning important to your business? The answer is: Progress is a series of steps gradually taken. Your progress depends on how well you’ve planned for the next step. If you haven’t planned for the next step you may be stepping backwards without even noticing. According to Maurice Evans, planning is 1 of the 4 basic keys to running a successful business.
A wise person once said:
It is IMPOSSIBLE to Improve something you cannot track or measure, and its almost impossible to measure something without a plan.
If your going to move forward and become successful you have to be a consistent planner.
I like to laugh at are people who come onto a forum and ask something like “How do I make $100 a day, Fast!!!” or “How can i MakE money online with blogger???” or “Can’t find a high paying niche, plz help me”. The truth it that your “high paying niche”, if there is such a thing, isn’t going to make you a dime if you don’t have a good plan to go with it.
People are always looking for the next best thing. It’s not an adjustment to your niche or industry thats going to help you, it’s an adjustment to your attitude as well as some added knowledge.
Something Maurice Evans wrote in one of his articles really opened my eyes(read the full article here):
Which of these things is completed successfully with quality and has no written plan:
A College Degree, Building A House, Starting A Business, Retirement, A Bus Route, An Airplane Flight PathTRICK QUESTION
The answer is NONE OF THE ABOVE.
If you ever see a successful model of one of the above…someone, somewhere wrote down a plan.
Would you spend your money to be involved with any of the above, if you knew the people in charge had NO PLAN???
